Any ideas??
Hey guys, took delivery of my new Transporter the other day, however the Pioneer AVIC headunit I had installed does not dim with the headlights. Upon questioning, apparently this is unable to be connected in a VW... is this correct? From my understanding, the dimmer cable just needs a slight voltage to be triggered??
Cheers

Yep I have a AVIC FB20T in my T5.1 and I can tell you it definitely switches to night mode and dims when you turn the headlights on. Sadly it makes it almost unusable during the day with the parkers/headlights on AND while I'm wearing sun glasses... I normally like to leave the lights on when I'm on a long country drive for visibility, but then I hope a huge red van is bright enough by itself
What model AVIC and Transporter do you have?

Hey,
I have a AVIC-F20BT in my bora. The dimmer works fine on it mine all ready had the cable in the wiring harness as the stock unit turned a back-light on when it was dark. Does your wiring loom come with an orange cable? Good units as well![]()

Thanks
The AVIC is the F20BT.
The Van's 2 weeks old... so a 2010 Transporter.
Havent been very impressed with a couple of things to do with it actually... the van itself is awesome but the extras the dealer put on leave a lot to be desired... however I'm working it all out so will hopefully end up ok...
Thanks for the answers guys, helps to know its possible, even though the dealer tells me it's not...
