Phone button on steering wheel

Hey guys. Wondering...I know the Phone button on the RNS510 mutes the audio (have confirmed this), but is the Phone button on the steering wheel also supposed to mute it? It doesn't for me.

I have an rcd510 and the phone button mutes audio for me on Golf Wagon MK6 , I assume it should on your rns510 refer to your manual , if it says it does in there and does not work take it to your vw service centre

Thanks Deeeshow....just to confirm that you're talking about the phone button on the steering wheel and not the head unit? The button on my head unit does work...but not the steering wheel one.

Steering wheel button only works if you have factory bluetooth i believe.
The steering wheel mute button should be the one shaped like a star.

Thanks for clearing that up team_v. I don't have a button on my steering wheel that is shaped like a star though......???...maybe that's on the Tiguan only?

Mark 6 doesn't have the star.

It's the button below the 'down' button on the left side, looks like a wand...unless you have voice control that is

It should mute and pause the track playing

ED: its a microphone, not a wand...durr
