Park Assist 2 - Aftermarket install

Just wondering if it's at all possible to have the Park Assist 2 installed in the car.

The way I see it is that it should just be a module that needs to be installed after all the Parking sensors and electric steering are already there. Is this at all possible?

ive been looking at this myself.

its not impossible to install. however your major issue will be the ABS unit.

ive really only read briskoda, but other GTI and Golf forums have plenty of info.

you can also buy the kits from carsystems.pl.

Here are some links I have saved for my own reference (just remember I drive an Octavia):

How many sensors do you have at the back? If you don't have the side sensors, (which you don't have otherwise you would have the park assist2), then it would be more difficult than just the module replacement and recode.

    that's a good point transporter.

if you have NO front/rear park sensors, its a harder installation. if you have at least rear sensors, its much easier.

Yeah, it could be a good DIY if you're capable.
It involves drilling into the body panels and most of the electrician/installers would be not willing to do it.

I find using the Park Assist 1 freaky enough as it is. Not sure how I'd go with PA2. Particually if the spot was next to a concrete column.

Haha this sums it up perfectly.

Are these systems getting better these days? I'm aware that with the original park assist systems you still ran a risk of gutter rash on the wheels. I assume by now that this risk has (almost) been eliminated.

Have got it and only ever used it once to see what it did.

If you can drive properly you dont need it

Car came with it on so its there and I only ever use it for how close I am to something.
