Options to get phone bluetooth connectivity

Could you please help me understanding my options to get iPhone bluetooth connectivity in my 77TSI (2010 - MY11)?
I've got the standard RCD310 and it shows up with Bluetooth Off under settings - I believe this is standard and nothing will work until I get a Bluetooth module installed, is this correct? Any indication on price to have this installed in Sydney?
Would that module come with the Touch Phone Kit (touchscreen mounted on dashboard) or would all interaction take place through the RCD310?
Alternatively I guess I could get a 3rd party hands-free car kit - I previously had a Parrot MKi9200 in my Polo but wasn't too impressed with stability (everytime I updated to a newer version of iOS the whole thing died and needed a firmware update).
I'm mainly interested in good, clear, call quality - AD2P is nice to have (not a necessity as I could also use the aux connectivity for music I suppose). Anyway, would love to hear your recommendations for something decent that doesn't cost more than $500 to have installed.

    Hi there

Integrated bluetooth modules (not dash mounted, they're awful from what I've heard) have the best features, are reasonably priced (see carsystems.eu) and it shouldn't be too hard to find a member nearby willing to help you install and/or code the module in your car for a decent fee/beer. Not familiar with how they work with the RCD310 or with the more basic MDI in the 77TSI they should still work ok.

You'll find all the bluetooth and audio info in this section: VW Car Audio and Electronics
    See BT info here: http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...dex-65460.html
And you can ask in here: http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/foru...nly-77380.html

Of course a simple 3rd party might do the job for a lot less, but I'm very impressed with call quality in my Golf using the premium kit and spending extra meant a lot of extra features such as voice control, phone address book showing on the sat nav and MDI (Comfortline), music streaming, and so on.

I used to have an old Sony Ericsson BT unit that clipped to the sun visor. Worked pretty well and could be charged using a cigarette lighter. But it's usually wireless.

Having used the BT on my RCD510 on the Tiguan and an Alpine INA W900 on our old Golf 77TSI, there's no contest really. The full systems are much better at noise rejection.

Thanks guys, I'll probably go for the 9w7 kit and have posted a message in the BT thread to see if there is anyone in Sydney willing to help me installing it!
