OPS Question - Does Skoda Part work in VW Mk 6?

    Hi All
I ordered this part VW Golf Mk6 5K1 - Park Pilot Rear w. OPS - Candy White which arrived today...

    BUT:
this appears to be a Skoda part (not VW) and additionally appears to be used. I had confirmed this prior to purchasing with them!

Will this still work on my GTI ED35?
The Skoda part number on the box (Controller??) is: 5J0 919 475A

I don't want to have to muck around with this as I will be going to SYD from CBR for the install and would rather know that is definitely going to work...

EDIT: Also the screenshot from the CarSystems site also shows it as being a VW part.

    Thanks

No response...? I guess I will find out tomorrow - I have booked with Audio Tech in Tuggeranong (ACT) for an install and guess I will find out.
Waited too long get myself organised to get this done (since March!), so bit the bullet and organised it yesterday. Wish me luck, will let you know how I go.
They can get the coding done too but worst case I can do it myself; as long as the install / wiring is done. I know people have had issues, but I am hoping that given that I have the instructions from CarSystems now (pretty sure other people did not have this?) it should be easy?

there will b no difference. the same device with a vw logo is 1Z0 919 475B
a majority of the parts r shared across vw, skoda & audi.

as for the part looking used (2nd hand), i'd b questioning carsystems.pl and asking they why this is so? u paid for a new device, not a used one.
    i'd b pee'ed off if i got a 2nd hand part.

anyways, good luck with the install.

I did at the time and basically their response was along the lines of: PFFT... if you want new, get it from VW and see how much they charge; happy to refund it if I sent it back...

Unfortunately the installer tells me is throwing up a lot of errors as soon as it was plugged in and not working
Although I bought the Golf MK6 part off CarSystems, the instructions they sent me we for the Polo and they said it was the same... Is that the case?
Also the installer reckons even the part they sent me was a Polo one, not Golf (not sure how they are ascertaining that, or whether that matters)

The errors coming up on the MFD are to do with:

    • Steering Assist
    • Parking Assist
    • Instrument failure
    • Something else... they forgot

This is as soon as they plugged in the unit and enabled the rear park sensor via the VAG.

EDIT: Here is the list of errors https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7953074/OPS-Faults.JPG
I might just give up and put a generic one in and throw out the OPS unit. Have booked this for Friday....
