    OEM Bluetooth issue! no response!

    Hi,

I got a 09 golf 118 tis, rcd 510 radio. I installed a OEM bluetooth unit in the car (Part Number: 1K8 035 730 D, Novero) and connected to 510. Seems nothing happens: iphone can not find the device, the bluetooth audio still in grey, no bluetooth set up pops up. Absolute no responses.

Does anyone know what should i do as there is no phone option pop up in the menu i have no control over this. PLease advise if i need to send to dealer to do the recoding or just something simple set ups i could do it home.

    Thanks
    Betasoot

I'm pretty sure you need coding for the car to know you've got BT.

I guess that's the thing can only be done in the dealership. Actually the seller has provided me a serial of code i just have no idea where to put them in.

    The part number you've given (1K8 035 730 D) is for a 9W2 Module. It's quite old, as a side-note.

When installing Bluetooth, the BT unit & car will need to be coded correctly using a VAG-Com cable. This can be done by a dealer (for a fee), or it can be done by one of the many forum members on here who have a cable and will help you.

If you get stuck, I'll assist for my standard fee of a bottle of alcohol.

I don't have experience installing the BT module (as my RCD510 already came with one) so I'm not sure what you meant by serial code. Contact a mechanic that specialises in VW cars. They should have access to VCDS. Would probably be cheaper than going to a dealership.

This may not apply to the 9W2, but when I installed the 9W7 (with a RCD510) and did not have the coding done, I could still use the BT but only if the RCD510 was switched on. I could pair the phone and use the telephone menu on the RCD510, but the steering wheel buttons and the MFD display didn't work. Nor could I set any options on the BT. After I had the coding done, then I could use the steering wheel buttons and the MFD display and could set the BT options. VW Village did the coding for me.
