No aerial

My newish Golf Mark 6 has no aerial. Pictures that I've seen of the same model do have an aerial.
What systems require the aerial? Is it the RNS510?
My car has an RCD510.
It may seem a dumb question but I haven't been able to find an answer.

You car does have an aerial, in fact it has TWO and has a diversity control in the head unit. The bump on the roof that you see on some golf 6's is the GPS antenna fitted to cars with factory fitted RNS 510's.

This will explain how it works, I have mark VI information that will be going up soon when I finish the pages off but essential the mark VI is the same as the mark V except the mark V had one of the two aerials on the roof on all models and had a combo GPS/aerial on cars with factory fitted sat nav.

While looking at your website I also noted info on removing the centre dash trim.
Can you point me to similar info for the Mark VI? I would like to run a cable from an iPhone cradle via the base of the centre dash to the MDI connector in the glovebox.

I've just put up some info on the Mark VI aerial and removing the head unit in the Mark VI which may be of use.
