Sat Nav not essential but might be able to throw a few extra $$ to get it included. Bluetooth for the phone most important and keen on a reversing camera with the limited view in the Caddy.
If you're considering going down the RCD330+ route, heres a breakdown of info about said units:

All Units support:
-Bluetooth Calling & Audio Playback
-USB Playback
-SD Card Playback
-Aux Audio Input
-Fader and EQ settings
-Composite based Reverse Camera
-Codeless install
-Plug'n'Play with any MK5/MK6 VW that had an RCD300/500/510 or RNS310/510
-No VAGCOM coding for installing (RVC may need some coding to work properly)

Some Units support:
-MirrorLink
-MirrorLink & Apple CarPlay

No Units support:
-MFD integration
-Built in GPS
-CD or DVD Playback (there's a slightly different variant with a smaller screen that does if you really want to retain this feature)

Features some people have reported working, but remain unconfirmed :
-MK6 Steering wheel controls in a MK6 VW
-MK6 Steering wheel controls in a MK5 VW
-Working with OEM Dynaudio Premium Sound Systems

There are four Variants of these RCD330+'s
-Desay Unit's feature a mute button in the top right hand corner, aren't capable of Apple CarPlay and run on a WinCE 6.0 based OS. They are capable of MirrorLink (Not the same as AndroidAuto)

-Noname Units are called such because they have no manufacturer name on the unit themselves. They're visually similar and operationally identical to the Desay units, but are more expensive and Run a Unix/Linux Based OS. Some of these units seem to support "Baidu Car Life" which is a Chinese version of Carplay (i think).

-Noname "Hacked" Units are visually the same as units mentioned above, but have an extra 256mb of ram (512mb total) soldered to there logic board and a custom OS installed that enables Apple CarPlay functionality. In the earlier days of these units the custom OS was very buggy and these units where avoided but these days they seem to be functionally identical to the bellow. These are pricier than the normal 'noname' units due to the modifications done.

**I've seen all the above units listed as "6RD 035 187A" Units***

-Noname "6RD 035 187 B" Units feature a Phone button in the top right corner. These are the most expensive units and seem to be the top level units. They Officially support MirrorLink and CarPlay. Like the other Noname units they run a Unix/Linux based OS.

People seem to think that the noname units receive firmware updates much quicker (idk how accurate this is), but at the end of the day the best unit for you is the one that best matches your needs. I have Desay unit in my 2008 TFSI Jetta because:
-I use an android phone capable of MirrorLink
-The Desay units are the cheapest (Mine was about $125AUD Shipped)
-I dont have an iPhone .
