New Range of VW Entertainment / Nav Options

I see from the new article on the Golf:

Seventh Generation Golf: In Depth | VWWatercooled Australia

That VW have a number of new entertainment / Nav systems. Has anyone seen any more information on these? I'm assuming they'll end up being used range-wide.

Not much info yet, will probably need to wait for the press to start driving and reviewing them for starters. It has been mentioned that security has been upp'ed on these units making it harder to retrofit, as a dealer has to insert a special SD card to get them to work first time and to update maps, etc.

Is it just me or have the design department also fcuked up the look on the next Golf?

Getting the whole Mazda 3 vibe with the Mk7.

The crooked design with the dash and resulting head unit, buttons would give OCD people like me the 5hits!

This must be the first Golf that I rather like, All the previous ones looked worse then the generation prior. Only after time I started to like them.
I suppose once you fit a few mods or R line gets presented it will once again look better

I am getting mark 3 rear feel from it and I like it after my 93' Mark 3 1.9 TD

The shape and design of the unit is completely different and there is a completely new security system to make aftermarket installation more difficult (not just VCDS coding anymore). I daresay the CAN-Bus platform it operates on will also be different, what with the new fancy MFD screen and all. Very doubtful of a fit on the mk6, even if you perform some major trim cutting.
