Is this new Passat fitted with aftermarket GPS?

I have recently driven a new/demonstrator Passat 118TSI, build date July 13, with 3500km on the clock; a nice car. Although having GPS fitted, it did not have a shark fin antenna. The GPS system said: HW: H09, SW: 5238 and map: 7679.
My questions are:
(i) is this a factory installed GPS or dealer added, as the latest seems to be version P?
(ii) are VW shipping now without the shark fin antenna and old GPS versions?
(iii) would it be worth while pulling out the unit with the H version and replacing with the P version? The H version could then go to our Golf mk V.

Comments would be much appreciated.

i. If there is no sharkfin its likely added after the factory
ii. Its likely not old. You are insinuating its an H rev. It is running the latest available firmware. Unless you pull it out and check the build date on it you won't know how new it is
iii. There is very little difference between an H and P, you would only notice a difference if you had both of them on a bench next to one another with a stopwatch. If you are going to buy one anyway for the other car and want the latest in the newer car then go for it its very easy to do, you just need to make sure you have the pin number for it as once plugged into a different vehicle it needs to be unlocked.

Thanks, kamold. With respect to the version (H or P), I was curious why such a new car didn't come with the so called latest version.

Very little difference as I said. Some 'revisions' only refer to the map version that is shipped from the factory for example.
