new headunit will it fit ?

i currently have a pretty rubbish headunit in my golf ( 1998 golf "rally") and was woundering what can and cannot fit in without to much effort and cable work

iv been looking at ones such as this 2-DIN Multimedia Player with a 5.8-inch Screen, DivX playback, iPod Control, Front USB and Aux-in - AVH-2350DVD :: Pioneer Australia
which i really like but just looks to big to fit,

is there ones like this (audio and visual) on the market that can easily fit ? and where is a good place to get them fitted as i don't think i would be able to do it, can jb hi-fi and all those shops do it for you ? are they worth trusting ?

thank you and sorry if im a bit of a noob with this question

I am going to go out on a limb here and assume you have a dash pocket the same height as the stereo above (or below?) the stereo.
if you remove the stereo AND the dash posket you will have a 2-DIN height gap, which a 2-DIN height stereo should fit into.
Lots of assumptions and shoulds in here for a reason, in that I am going off what I remember of my mates car which I haven't seen for 6 months or so.
