My xovers are pretty big and they had no problem fitting behind the climate control in the centre bit. Just make sure you secure them down.
If your not confortable in doing the install yourself, try and get a professional to do it.

Bora has gone ;( Custom sub box and beige floor mats to suit for sale.
to be honest i would not bother upgrading the front speakers. Put a good head unit in and amp the front speakers they will sound as good most likely sound better than the rockford fostgate stuff.
Hope this helps. But otherwise easy enough to moun cross-over in the door more than enough room.

Hehe, I doubt it. Often the older stuff especially from the American companies when it was actually made in America was very good.
I do agree an Amplifier and proper head-unit will do a treat and that the stock system in these cars is not bad at all.
Centre console is a good place, door's are not a good idea, water gets in and isn't healthy for x-overs. Though with my rear's I mounted the x-overs on the door skin as there was enough space but the x-overs were a lot smaller than my front's.
I actually made an mdf mount for the boot and put my front x-overs/distribuition block/front amplifier and sub onto the board. I have left the rear's running off of the head-unit.

i'm rather serious. The factory gear is very good. Amp it and if you are not happy wit the sound then upgrade the speakers.
As for cross-overs you can stick it in between the door skin and door panel. there is no moisture in there moisture is on the other side of the door.

I'm in the same boat TB with my Bora, so if that's the case glidn, I have a FUSION Audio 'Encounter Series' FE-402 2ch amp (140W RMS) I'm ready to fit to help improve the clarity and response of the OEM speakers a bit. Almost a pity to have it stuck under the front passenger seat. Sooo pur-itty![]()
You think this will be enough to make an improvement to the factory stuff? If not I also have a set of JVC CS-FS6 splits for the front (300w RMS).
I ran a JVC KW-XC777 double-DIN MP3 headunit in the Subaru, but also thinking about fitting another JVC unit in the Bora(t) for MP3 convenience (JVC KW-XG701)
Any feedback/thoughts/advice on this set-up boys?
anyone with a mk4 wanting to upgrading your stereo gear. upgrading your head unit to the likes of a Alpine 9887 will make a world of difference.
If you do sound deaden the car too you really will have no need to upgrade speakers.
but amping your standard speakers will already be a good improvement.

hi guys i have just about finished my install in my Bora. It is all working except for one little hickup with one crossover were the brass coil sprung so i'm waiting to pick up the replacment one this weekend.
Anyway I have installed new MB quart splits in the front, MB Quart 2 way Coaxials in the rear, 2 alpine amps ( one for the splits and coaxial's) and one for the two 10" alpine subs.
I blew all my standard splits when i was running them with just a 12" sub, so i had to update.
My managed to fit my crossovers just behind the door handles and they fitted perfectly and i also didn't have to worry about running heaps of wires back through the door etc.
I will be posting up a forum with all the step by step photos soon.
But i'll post up some pics of where i put my crossovers for you now so you can get an idea.
