My11 Bluetooth : RNS510 - no microphone

Have above and paired successfully to IPhone3GS
Can receive and make calls via keypad or from phone list.
can hear party but they cannot hear me.
I have checked that the mute button is not off and the volume is turned up to maximum level.
Everything seems to be ok with Bluetooth setup.
Am I missing something?
Do I have a faulty microphone ?
I have read the manual and I cannot see anywhere else to turn on or off the microphone manually.
Any suggestions apart from trip back to dealer after Christmas?

Sounds odd...

When you make a call, check the MFD and scroll down to Mic On/Mic Off and see if that makes any difference. I've no idea as to whether it would even default to the Mic Off setting, but worth a shot before you take it back to the dealer.
