New sub = New Boot install! FOR SALE!!

Thats right, a nouther new boot install!

This time, its all about space saving and weight saving.

Its starting with a JBL GTO 1002D 10" DVC sub, in a DNA prefab box, with a nice curved mesh grill. I plan to build a floor, with the mono rececsed into the floor, and leave the 4ch on the back of the seat, where it is now. I'd recess both amps, but they don't match. i may even hide the ono in the side covers i built for the previouse install.

    Pics as the work happens!

It made a normally fast car, very slow. Most of the old insatll will remain, including the parcel shelf. I'm thinking, hide both amps, in the sides, faulse floor, to keep everything flat, and set the sub off to one side. Very neat, pretty stelth. At a later date, i might do a custom box, and intergrate it better.

Made it slower? I have seem people take out 50kg sub + box and only improve the quater mile by 0.2-0.3sec. Fuel economy will suffer more than anything.

I think its just a good excuse to pull it all out and play again lol.

Ok, time for a pic less update.

I have hidded both amps. One, on a bourd inside the spare wheel well (the 4ch) and the other, behind a panel, covering the left side wheel arch and strut. There is anouther panel on the right side covering the othe strut, but the remaining space was too small to fit the 4 channel, which would have allowed me to keep my spare. Alas.....
Time for the floor. I intend to build a floor with a lid in it, so i can accsess my 4 ch, maybe with the VW logo in it, we'll see as it happens.
Tyhe prefab box is going walkabout. In its place will be a triangular 1cf corner box, tucked away, in the front left corner of the boot.

All this wiil be trimmed in black carpet. I may add some lighting at a later date, but i have no plans for it at this point.

In other news, i need a new parcel shelf.
I'm thinking of making it myself, as i want to hide the magnets of the 6.5" and 4" speakers that will reside there (along with the tweeters, but they don't exatly take up alot of space) And the wireing.
    Should be fun.

Well it should be pretty good, at least you know exactly what you want to do. Always tricky hiding things, but that is half the fun!

Lighting should be a must, how else are you gunna show off when your at Macca's

Well thats the problem, there is going to be nothing to show off! It should all be hidden when its done, bar the sub. I just want to go super neat, and almost practical, and hopefully, not very heavy.
