    MKV Ipod adpater doesn't work

    Hi,
I have fitted the vw factory ipod adapter a few years back from the dealer.

Last few days a have problem with it, as I plugged it in.
    It doesn't recognise my ipod.
When I look at the Ipod screen once I plugged in the adapter
It keep toggle between the ipod menu screen and the the "tick" logo screen.
But doesn't stay at "VW logo" screen if you know what I mean.

And when I check my cable, it seem the cable been snag/snap at where the adapter.
Is there a way to fix it without replace the whole intergration.
I don't want to spend too much money on it.
Cause I been driving this car for like 6 or 7 years.

    Cheers,

    Thanks all in advance

You should be able to just replace the cable. Do you know what kind of cable it is? Maybe there is some text at one of the ends.
I'd say call up where you got it done, and ask where to go from there. It shouldn't break after only a couple of years, so maybe they'll be able to do it for free. If not, ask how you can do it yourself. It shouldn't be too hard.
I look at my V-Dub, and all I can think is....."Dat Ass....."

The cable can be fixed if you use repair wires OEM part 000 979 009 for quadlock connectors or OEM part number: 000-979-131-E / 000979131E / 000-979-131-A / 000979131A for the mini ISO connectors.
Also for the new units RCD310/RCD510 that use quadlock the pinout for the cc changer audio has changed, actually only the audio ground pin location has changed.
