    Mk V R32 factory amp

Hi all, I'm thinking of upgrading my front set of speakers to either the Focal VR3 or the Hertz HSK163. I have an RNS510 running through factory amp under front passenger seat at the moment.

I was wondering if I were to upgrade the front speakers, would the SQ from the factory amp be good enough to drive these or you think I should upgrade the amp as well?

From Mav's diagram of connecting block for the amp, it does look like that the crossover is inbuilt into the amp and there are three "pairs" of wires going to the front door to drive the tweeter, midrange and woofers. If that's the case, it would make the crossover from the speaker set redundant? As I haven't taken the door apart yet, I would just like to confirm from someone whose done this before and opinions for the pros and cons of Focal vs Hertz.

    Thanks in advance

Yes, the factory "amp" includes the crossovers (and not much else!)

I've got the Focal 165VR3's, they're great - but a better amp helps a lot (in which case you do need the crossovers!)
