Glad you found it helpful!
I don't know if this is posted in the forum but I found this in VWGolf.net.au forum.
The article was entitled, MIB II - Custom POI's / Speed Cameras etc.
I followed the tutorial and now my maps show the location of all speed cameras.
Thought someone else might want this info if they haven't already found it.

I've noticed that the POI with the speed cameras have disappeared after turning off car.
I'll investigate but if someone else has seen this and can shed some light as to why this happens, I'd appreciate it.
I'm not sure why they'd remove themselves after you remove the SD card...? I haven't heard of that before.
Do you get this screen at the end of the process? Any errors after or during the import? You can also try importing using an empty SD Card. Also try manually powering off, and powering on the screen a few times after importing to test if they stay there.
Lastly, how have you checked that they're not there? While you were importing from the VW site, did you enable the 'ding' sound when driving past a speed camera? Try changing to the NAV screen, turning up your sound, and driving past a speed camera.
I'll give your recommendations a try later today.
They import just fine.
I brought a new 8GB SD Card to do this setup as I didn't want to add them to my SD Music card which is a 128GB card and over 65% full.
This is why it takes so long to index my music collection.
I followed your tutorial to the letter as it was so clear.
I've tried your recommendations and while they load fine and there is a sound when you are close to a camera, they are not being retained once the car is shutdown.
On restart I receive this error message: "No personal POIs available. Further information: volkswagen-nav-companion.de"
This makes me believe that there is a software bug in the version on my car as my software is also asking me to re-pair my Samsung Galaxy 6 phone every time I get into the car and this does not occur in friend's cars on another Golf R, Golf TSI or Toureq.
Can you check your system information against mine? My system information is:
Device part number: 3Q0035846
Hardware: 820
Software: 0611
Navigation database: 3G0919866K

I've read a VW UPDATE Tech Bulletin (91N9 UPDATE) dated 15 December 2015 which mentions a long list of problems affecting the MIB2 MQB Infotainment system including Bluetooth not staying paired, settings in menu not stored etc. It states on page 4 of the update that if the software is lower than 0613 and car under warranty, the dealer is to upgrade the Infotainment software at no charge. The software in my car is 0611. I've booked any upgrade with the dealer for Infotainment and new maps.
Took the car in for service to update the SW and showed them the tech bulletin... Dealership tried to tell me the software was different for Australia but as a software developer, I explained to them that it was not and if it wasn't the software, then the head unit was at fault and they would have to replace it. The dealer principle joined in conversation with service personnel and said he had the same problem with phone not pairing in his Golf R and instructed them to do update. Unfortunately, the update failed twice due to communication errors with the VW server. They did manage to update two cars later in the day and called me. But wonder of wonders, I have no Infotainment software installed on my car at present due to failure to upload however, the Bluetooth portion of the software must have upgraded as the phone now pairs perfectly and operates properly. Car is scheduled for a service to upload software next week... I'll advise as the new software should fix all the problems including my speed camera POI file.
Found this page but don't know if it is the page to download the Infotainment software for upgrading as it is in German and not translating in Chrome:
