Didn't really need your caustic rant, I provided information from the "Discover Pro Gen.3 Map material update" publication.
If you're such an expert for 14 years why did you ask for help and then piss on my foot?
Work it out for yourself.

You did not comply with it. You have extra files on the USB stick. You did not use 7Zip. The manual is pretty specific about that, which you ignored, and then have the hide to call me a novice. Even if I were a novice, an elderly person should not be too pigheaded about taking advice from someone not as mentally advanced as yourself.
At my 73 years old I am still able to recognise that a new update might and almost certainly could contain extra compliance conditions, so that what worked yesterday won't work today. I worked in IT for many years before running my own IT Consultancy for over 20 years.
You come across as talking to a pigheaded old man. How about you buy yourself a new USB stick and use that and follow the instructions as I have outlined, which I extracted from the manual you claim to have followed.
For reference, the instructions for MIB3 update in Australia can be found here
https://app-connect.volkswagen.com/m...ember_2020.pdf
The instructions are quite specific on how the process will work.

Ok after a day of ferreting around it seems the link that Flipper Dog has up is the JUNE map ( which I have) and shows as 23.12.
Nowhere can I find a newer version. SO It didnt update because it wont write over itself.
NOT BECAUSE of my way of doing it, which does work despite what the instructions and some posters think,
As long as the map is in the root directory of the stick it doesnt matter what else is on it as it only looks for the correct files to load.
If they arent there it wont work.
If other files are there it doesnt care and ignores them.
Despite what others may think it has been like that since I got the car in 21 and used the same stick with the same music on it each time.
It has always worked no problems.
So problem solved and maybe the November edition is late or as said on another forum they may only be doing annual editions.
Is the same on both the VW and Skoda portals which incidentally I have been using the maps off whichever one is first in both the Tiguan and the Kamiq and always had success ( except the time I stuffed up)
Method Download the file to HDD Put my ExFat formatted music stick in computer UnRAR the downloaded file to the root of the music stick/card . Stuck it in either car and wait for 30 mins in the KAMIQ or just left it in the Tiguan and it updated when car being used If stopped it resumed from where it was when car turned off. Never failed except the time I pulled the card out too soon in the Tiguan. No longer have the Tig
Map versions. Also it seems the number that comes up as "Navigation Database" is NOT related to a version of the map but the DATE of issue
EG in an MIB3 it is yy m. so IE 2023.12 is later than 23.6.
Ok downloaded Flipper Dogs latest linked map Unrared the files to the root directory of my Music USB C drive and Abra ca dabra I now have 24.6. So methods other than what is written have and DO WORK. I rest my case
Here is a screenshot of the partial contents of the Music StickAttachment 56241
and the location on the drive of the package list file, listed in alphabetical order
I put the stick in the car on Wednesday night and since then it has done about 6km Wife went shopping yesterday morning a bit over a K each way and did the same in the afternoon. Looked today and 24.6 is installed so it didnt take long and would have had interruptions while doing it. The 25gig on in the Tig also would install even with interruptions
