A mate of mine had a kenwood unit and changer, and it had an issue with the cable. I don't know how he fixed it, but i can find out.
Hi all,
I recently bought a kenwood cd changer off e-bay for $50 (KDC-C669), figured it was the cheapest and quickest way of getting cd playback in the car. I have a kenwood tape head unit (KRC-443II) which has CD\MD changer control and the appropriate cable was installed in the boot.
After plugging the changer in and hearing a satisfying buzz from it and successfully ejecting the spindle I turned to the head unit and no matter what I did, including holding the reset button for lengthy moments I couldn't get it to communicate with the changer, as it the only source options I got were off and tune (and tape when one's in there)
I took it in to Stathfield and got the bloke there to poke and prod the head unit (he thought there might be a menu system somewhere) but to no avail.
any Ideas? of course the changer might be stuffed (good enough to prime and eject but not read or communicate with head unit???)
