    iPod connections

OK so maybe I'm just too old to understand this new fangled technology....

Recently swapped out the standard Eurovox head unit for a Sony with USB. Now when I connect my iPod to crank up some sensational Pink Floyd things seem to go a bit awry. I can't listen to all the songs. They just don't seem to be available. When I skip to the next song, it jumps forward several songs. I've noticed a similar thing when I hook the iPod up to other USB devices like the TV. Seems to be something about a folder structure.

Anybody seen this? Have a solution? Sure I could just use an aux cable, but then I have to selct songs through the iPod and not the stereo.

There is a difference between an iPod adaptor and a standard USB conection.

thats probably where things are going wrong.

I think Steve is on the money here, USB connections are either "iPod compatible" or not. Those that are not will simply see iPods (but not iPhones or iPod touches) as a memory stick and play whatever files it sees in whatever order it sees them.

*most*... current head units I would have thought would be iPod compatible if they had a USB, but it sounds like that isn't the case so it looks like you might be out of luck.
