Installing my new (from eBay) RNS510 version F

    Hey all -

just downloaded the 'Rocc (Jamaica) instructions for install on this new RNS unit into my Tig ...and in the 'Step 1' section it has a checklist -

One thing missing from what I can see is the TV-In-Motion unit ...? Is this siting behind my 'factory' head unit as is ?? or do I also need to buy this cable harness ??

    Thanks guys!!!
    Really appreciate your help!

The tv in motion unit is an extra cable that does not come standard and must be purchased as an extra part outside of the original purchase.
Not neccessary as part of the install.

Don't need it for the sake of just installing the unit.

    Is an additional accessory.

Hardly anyone has it here due to legality reasons (like answering your mobile).

Will still play dvd's, just not while the car is in motion yes.

All you need is the unit and the GPS antenna then you can install it (if you have a hex head screwdriver)

Just installed my RNS 510, such a simple job (and I hate doing things like these usuually).

question. Where have people mounted their GPS in the Tiggy? I ran the cable through the airvents and the puck sits under the top dashboard. There doesn't seem to be any metal anywhere to make use of the magnet so I stuck it down with some tape as a temporary measure. Not sure if that will hold once the heater is turned on. Haven't got GPS to work yet but I haven't driven it out of the garage.

Just underneath the dashboard and above the air vent, would be cleaner!
You'll notice a ledge above the vents to sit the puck.

Some have also just put it on top of the head unit, using the magnet.

thanks aussi. I'm going to try those spots. Will have to take it out anyway to check the connections as I haven't been able to get a GPS signal at all. Maybe a coding issue too? Everything else seems to be working a treat

Should have nothing to do with coding!

If getting blank white screen (first time), then that's normal (whilst everything sort of loads up).

If you can bring up the secret menu, it'll tell you whether GPS antenna connected properly or not.

Press on the "map" button twice to bring up GPS receiver on screen to see how many satellites you've picked up.
