Sounds interesting....will have to give the 4020 firmware a try then

Not able to download the 4020 firmware for A units from File Factory as the file is larger than 500 MB. Anyone able to put the file on Google docs or have a link to a mirror?

If you send me a link I can try and get it and upload to Google.

Neither did I until someone told me here

Or maybe it requires the latest maps as well... can't remember (upgraded from 39xx and v4.1 maps at the same time)

It's actually the new map data that enables voice control. I beleive its been available since 27xx series but our map data was not compatible.
    V4.1 or above.

I definitely didn't have it with 39xx and 4.1 kamold, I could say 'Enter new address' but from there on it said I had to refer to the screen (or something to that effect). With the upgrade I can now enter addresses completely.

That's because you were moving. By default it.blocks you using it on the move. Firmware upgrade lifts that restriction but only as its a setting changed.

Ah cool. Granted if I wasn't moving I'd never really go the voice control option anyway (unless I was showing off or something)

OMG you can't talk and drive at the same time that's soooooo dangerous!!!

Voice entry is actually fairly effective once you get the hang of the intonation required to be understood.

    Glad I don't have a Glaswegian accent...

Hi if you don't mind, could you let me know if (and where) the firmware is available on Google? (Should specify thats for a Rev A unit.)

    Thanks

    Tom
