I don't have a blue tooth ,but my 2008/9 golf V shows all turns and shows all streets on the MFD, Mine was a V3 with 2760 firmware ,you might need some one with more expertise, And ive never seen the climate on my RNS 510 ?
I finally got around to finding the time to install the RNS-510 with the B version bluetooth module.
It turn out better than I could have hoped. Only one issue where the polish piggy back connector to bluetooth module had the pass through mic wires swapped around. That stumped me for an hour.
Just a few weird things...but maybe normal:
1) The system's fan is quite noisy
2) The satnav does not show up arrow directions on full mfd. Done all the suggested VCDS updates...including enabling BAP.
3) The phone button doesn't call or end calls?
4) Climatronic changes don't show on RNS
4) Ebay ad said it would come with V3 maps...unfortunatly came with V2 (6613) map that is turning out to be difficult to find. I've contacted the seller informing him it only came with V2...very responsive...I've asked him whether he could send me a disc to remedy. I've read there are some members that can provide the disc?
5) Ebay ad said it come with 2720 firmware...came with 2660 firmare. Not much of an issue as I've already downloaded 2720...don't want to go to 2760 as I've read there are some issues?
6) Do yours make a chime noise when you turn off car and open driver door?
Cheers, Michael.

I haven't coded my RNS 510 with the VCDS yet (anyone help in the Kiama area??) so I don't have the directions on the MFD, however I DO get the climatronic info on the RNS display, so I assume this ability is unrelated to re-coding. I have a MY11 118TSI and version C RNS 510.
I can hear mine too but seller assured it's normal as long as it's not an unpleasant noise like rattling or buzzing like it's having a bronchitis or something...
Once you enabled it on VCDS - have you restart your RNS510? press < > and i (or * if you have new LED version?) buttons together to restart2) The satnav does not show up arrow directions on full mfd. Done all the suggested VCDS updates...including enabling BAP.
on the steering wheel?3) The phone button doesn't call or end calls?
no idea but maybe restarting might help...4) Climatronic changes don't show on RNS
available on eBay for A$199 this week I saw it there last I looked couple days ago.4) Ebay ad said it would come with V3 maps...unfortunatly came with V2 (6613) map that is turning out to be difficult to find. I think mine is 2760, but what issues? i haven't seen any on mine.5) Ebay ad said it come with 2720 firmware...came with 2660 firmare. Not much of an issue as I've already downloaded 2720...don't want to go to 2760 as I've read there are some issues?
Nope, must be a setting somewhere...6) Do yours make a chime noise when you turn off car and open driver door?

Which ebay seller if you dont mind saying.. name and shame.
The noise is a bit troubling when there is no music on. Getting replacement LED version so hopefully being a unit that draws less power would mean less heat?
Yep, did the resart.
Phone button on steering wheel. Maybe I need to code the steering wheel differently as I've read it should bring up phone menu, terminate call etc.
He's sending V3 disc with the new unit...
there are supposedly issues with 2760 where the car in navigation is behind actual location?
on mine I had to code it to turn on (ticked) BAP protocol under one of the Nav's long coding
then i had to turn off (untick) shortpress steering wheel button too. I believe MK6 need to have it turned off but MK5 prefers it on?
I could be wrong.
I didn't activate voice control although by default voice control inactive is unticked which means it's active. I don't have mic in as the mic goes into bt unit and I prefer the steering wheel mic button to be used to mute the stereo whenever i want to... I've always find voice control a bit lame, particularly after ringing some customer service line that uses voice recognition (eg. Telstra).
I prefer touch tone + # on the phone rather than talking to a machine and feels like an idiot when the machine can't recognise my words.
