How much would installing RNS510 cost?

Hi this is my first post.

I ve recently bought a RNS510 for my Tiguan and just wondering how much will an auto electrician charge to retrofit it or how long it would usually take. I can imagine it wouldn't be rocket science so if someone come up with some ridiculous figures I can have some facts to back me up. Cheers to all.

I have done it 3 times now and it would take about 10 minutes maximum.

The first time it took 20 and a $5 set of torx head bits for my screwdriver to get the T20 bit i needed.

Then it could work flawlessly or you may need to find someone who has a vcds cable on the forum and go to a meetup so they can tweak 1 or 2 settings to have 100% functionality.

Auto electrician would be an overkill for this, and ultimately unlikely to be effective. What you need is another forum member or a tech with VCDS to assist you.

Where are you located? Most forum members would help out for free or a case of something nice Have a look at Who can do VCDS coding section to see who is near you.

You'll find there are hardly any differences between the Golf and Tiguan procedure

Thanks for the replies. Some real helpful info.
Looks like the difficulty level might just fall within my DIY capability so thinking of giving it a try. though the GPS antenna is something I need to buy separately if my car hasn't got GPS in the first place, is that right?

Most of the time the unit is supplied with the antenna, otherwise just search for one on eBay
