Dynaudio is it fitted no documentation just 2 badges?

Dynaudio - are the badges the only way to tell it is fitted?

I know it seems like a silly question but I never got a decent opportunity during my purchasing and test driving to find out exactly. The sound is superb though!

The only speakers that have a Dynaudio badge in my MY12 Scirocco R DSG (purchased last week) are the two front door bass ones, no badges on any of the other speakers?

Did notice in a MY13 Scirocco with Dynaudio option (no SatNav) that I sat in in a showroom last week. When it was turned on, a Dynaudio logo appeared and it doesn't on mine which is an RNS 510.

    Any comments would be appreciated.

If the RNS510 was dealer fitted and the car has dynaudio then the RNS has been incorrectly coded and this WILL be affecting your sound quality. The dealer or anyone with VCDS can tell the RNS that it has dynaudio.

The dynaudio system also comes with an amp it should be under the passenger seat under some plastic or carpet.

Checked under the seat and yes the amp is definitely there. Plus not quite sure what I did differently but a VW splash screen showed today when I started the Scirocco and Dynaudio appeared on the same splash screen!
Looking and sounding good, thanks for your comments.

The Dynaudio amp is actually on the cars CAN bus so it is possible for the RNS to automatically detect it. I don't have enough experience with the Dynaudio system to say for sure.

The RNS needs to be correctly coded to set its outputs to line level instead of speaker level.
If the system was factory fitted this should be done already. If either the RNS or Dynaudio amp was added aftermarket this would need to be checked.

So if any doubt still remains have someone with VCDS do a system scan and check the coding for the RNS is correctly set.

Maverick has a good writeup with screenshots here.
