Just a thought, but have you tried turning off bluetooth meda streaming in the RCD510 settings/media menu?
MDI and bluetooth media streaming will not work simultaneously.
Hey everyone,
Just installed myself today the 9w7 to my RCD510. The bluetooth is working fine except haven't got the MFD working yet because need to do the coding. Installing yourself isnt that hard..except when your heart skips a beat when you think you think you just snapped the plastic trim around the head unit.
But strangely the Media-in isnt working. Its plugged in, and before I slot back in the RCD510 I disconnected the 9w7 and the MDI worked again. The BT streaming works.
Has anyone else experienced this after installing? Will coding fix this? Tried searching, but cant seem to find anywhere, anyone having the same experience nor any instructions to fix.
Appreciate any help... thanks in advance!

Hi,
Thanks to someone in another forum I have worked it out.
Below is the orginal plug that plugs into the back of the head unit
The next image is the 9w7 adpater which now plugs into the back of the head unit (after you have plugged the orginal socket on the other end of the cable)
See the difference??
Yep - that blue plug isn't there. The included 9w7 cables dont provide support for MDI. So I had to unwrap the MDI plug from the rest of the cables so I could plug it back into the headunit.
All working now. Hope this helps others who fall in the same trap as I did.
Cheers
