Help New RNS510 thinks it's in the Northern Hemisphere

My new Passat (picked up today) with RNS510 thinks it's in Germany, and is not picking up any local satellites. So although the Aus maps are loaded, it can't do anything. MAP just shows a blank screen. The Current Location function shows a Latitude NORTH location, so obviously not right. Any ideas on that?

The GPS antenna automatically finds your latitude, longtitude... your location. It's probably a sign your GPS antenna may not be working, not plugged or something. Also in your MAP button you can find your latitude/longtitude... drive a bit and if it doesn't change it just means ur GPS antenna isn't working, give it a bit of time to connect ( it occasionaly takes a bit to figure out it's co-ordinates)

In that case it's busted. I've done 80 kms and it's still the same.

Sometimes when we fit new GPSs in aircraft they take 30 minutes or more to update the almanac. That always seems like it's taking ages. Watched kettles and all that.

I would park it up somewhere quiet and leave it switched on.

This is the kind of thing that a PDI should be sorting out IMO

I agree about the PDI - yet another thing I am taking up with the dealer principal.

I drove about for about 2 hours yesterday and it's still not working...

Be patient.... after over 3 hours driving and being left overnight it finally came good. Just all of a sudden came to life. Thank goodness!!!! And it's an awesome sat nav system... love it.
