Do you push the folder up button in the top left to go up a level?
Hi everyone
Sorry to probably rehash old discussions or problems, but I cant seem to find a fix anywhere on the net....
I have just picked up my new GTI with RNS 510 and have been saving all my music in MP3 format to my computer..... Now I have the following folders set up:-
Music
- Artists & Albums
(All the artists are listed and then the albums under each artist)
- Compilations
(Then sub folders for 80's, 90's, 2000's)
Now when I insert the SDHC card (8GB BTW) it starts playing the first album in the Artists & Albums folder.... So, when I go into selection, it is only giving me this album and not showing anything else on the SDHC card!
This is very frustrating as I have been preparing for weeks and thought I had it all organised... Any help would be greatly appreciated and I hope I have made sense??
Cheers

I have tried every botton there is.... I thought that if you have a top folder then it should show that first?
Have I not done the folders right on my computer or something?
Cheers

I just thought I'd try a spare SDHC card 16GB Class 4 that came free with my digital camera since I have upgraded to a faster card.
So I copied a few folders of CD rips (FLAC format) into the root folder. Plugging the SDHC card inside tells me SD Card error.
Does RCD510 not read FLAC? Or is there an issue with the card? It is FAT32 formatted.
Nope, very few devices support FLAC.
MP3 in 320kbps or high quality VBR is your best bet for SDcard/HDD.
If you want lossless formats like FLAC, you will need to plug your phone in via MDI or stream via A2DP Bluetooth.

I do have my iPhone using AIFF but haven't had a chance to update my iTunes library with some of my newer rips so..
OK so I converted my FLAC files to MP3s using XLD. LAME MP3 VBR 256 kbps.
The RNS 510 sees the MP3 files and plays them automatically but for some reason, it keeps stopping playback after about 1 minute 45-50 seconds and the skips to the next track, which it then plays for 1 minute 45-50 seconds, and then it skips to the next track again. Wonder why.
Is the program you used to transcode the files a trial version or something or do they play fine on a computer?
The rns has no problems with vbr files I have never seen that behaviour so sounds like an issue with the transcoding.
