    Hi Guys,

Does anyone know where I can purchase a new Audio/Navigation Unit for my Gt Sport? The stock item is a POS!

You mean the stock navigation unit is a POS, or the basic radio that comes with the car?

Hey man! Stock RADIO that came with the car - is what I meant. I would like to buy a new Unit with Nav/BT.

Know of anyone local in Melbourne with decent prices and installation?

OEM would be better I think - but i am open to aftermarket. What do you recommend?

The OEM navigation head unit, the RNS-510, is not cheap and getting very long in the tooth, although it integrates with the car better than any aftermarket unit provided you have a full height red MFD in your instrument cluster. Additionally, map upgrades are expensive and unless you already had OEM Bluetooth installed, you'll need to get that module separately.

Personally, if I had to do it all again, I would go with an aftermarket CarPlay unit, and try and find one that at least allows control through the steering wheel buttons. Of course, there are other aftermarket units if you are not an iPhone user, but since I am, I do not know what is available.

Rcd330g plus from China doesn't have integrated Nav but it does have CarPlay so you can run Nav via your phone.
Has Bluetooth integrated so doesn't need an external unit.
Uses aftermarket cameras which are cheaper than OEM.
    Worth looking into.

    Hey Guys,

Thanks for your input! I will looking into it and see what I like! The RNS-510 looks great and if I am correct it has DAB. I am an Android User so I would have to purchase the BT Module too. I will have to see if it connects to the steering wheel controls too.

Rns with dab is a different model to normal ones which are available. It's more expensive.

If you're an android user, I highly recommend getting an aftermarket full android 5.5 head unit. You can source them from ebay very easily. Just search ' VW android radio ' or something and you'll see plenty of options.

    Quick Pros:
    - Full google play store. (Spotify, google maps, waze maps, sound cloud, etc.)
-Comes with GPS too, so if you download offline maps, you can still use the navigation. otherwise you can always hotspot your phone.
    - Looks so much better, extremely customisable.
    - Full Steering wheel controls + customisation benefits.
    - Most of them look the same as OEM, and are plug and play. You won't need no fascia/adpater kits.
    - No need for extra bluetooth modules, rev camera etc. it's all built in. Saving you sooo much more money.
-Honestly, it's a bit of a no brainer. I highly recommend checking it out.

[Joying / Pumping? i think it was.. are some of the more known brands, even though they're chinese. It's all top notch. ]
