How much did you pay.
I noticed a few recent have sold for between $330 and $390 + postage.
Got a GPS/ Audio unit that resembles a RNS 510 from ebay...Just wanted to know from those who have had it installed.....where to get it done perfectly(steering wheel controls functioning as well as on the MSD), what price range do i expect....and whether it will work well or better than the stock basic Golf GTi MKV Audio system in terms of sound quality...

Not much point asking after you've purchased it if the sound quality is good!
Be wary that there are problems with some of these units not powering down correctly and if you leave your car for a few days it won't start.
Also you won't have any MFD integration.
Installation would take around an hour depending in the unit, it's state of preparedness and how good the installer is so allow for one to two hours. It's not that hard to do yourself, all you need are some trim removal tools.

I got it for about $430....which looks like a bagain but on second thoughts..now not sure whether to go on and install or not...(guess should have asked around 1st)...if i get someone who has done it successfully whilst retaining MSD and Steering Control function..it could be worth it......
Any one out the...please share some info...
Was enticed by the Intergrated 30 gig hard drive, blue tooth, etc
You won't get MFD integration no matter how good the installer is. The only way to get that is to buy an OEM headunit. Steering wheel controls should work with up and down + volume operating.
Plus it's the VW RNS 510 that has a 30GB hard drive, this unit doesn't come with one.
The units doesn't integrate well but are a good price for what you get. Their quality is so so and they do have plenty of bugs so it really depends if you can look past these. One of the reason why I purchased the VW was the second to none integration of all their systems including the head units, losing this and introducing a unit with a poor UI and annoying features wasn't worth the "savings" over purchasing a RNS 510 and Skoda Bluetooth IMO.

Thanks Maverick..I think i will have to find someone who wants it..i didnt do enough homework to start with.....probably back to Ebay...
I tend to agree, just put the money towards the proper factory unit, as it will add value to the car and not be thowaway money, as well as the frustrations when things dont work logically or how you'd expect with the chinese knock off units.
I haven't looked back since getting my RNS-510 and skoda bluetooth. OEM is the best and worth the extra. As Mav said, Kufatec modules still don't work properly as well as expensive and slow customer service. Connects2 gear seems much better and works well with various other after market audio brands.
Better to go for the factory HU and get an Audison Bit One processor and amps if you want to build on the system later. The power of after market HU alone still isn't enough to avoid having an amp etc.
