You sure there's no moth or ferret let loose in your car?
Just my 2 cents worth!
Hi all,
My Mk6 Golf's alarm is going off every now and then for no reason. Just tonight it went off while tucked away safely in my garage. My neighbour also told me it went off several times a few nights ago while i was out.
The car is completely closed up (windows/doors/sunroof closed etc) so im assuming its a faulty sensor or something thats triggering the alarm to go off.
I'll call the dealer tomorrow to book it in for diagnosis - but i thought id see if anyone else has had this issue in a Mk6 and might know what the fix is??
Thanks in advance

They have interior sensors, are there any devices inside the car that might be triggering them?
Mobile phone, Bluetooth kit etc?
2010 Golf R - 3dr - Manual - Rising Blue - MDI - SatNav - Milltek TBE
Does it have a switch to turn off the interior sensor/s on the B post by the drivers seat. Press that and see if it is still triggering.
If you have VCDS scan the car and it'll have noted what the trigger was.

No bugs or critters inside that i can see that might be triggering the interior sensors.
I have disabled the interior sensor (near the drivers seat) to see if that stops it - but i still want it fixed.
Thanks for your answers.
FYI mine has done this once in the car park at work (maybe due to large amounts of roadwork in the street, vibrations?) and twice the other night when I was out as some idiots were setting off fire crackers nearby, so I figured that may have been the cause!
