Gen 2 Tiguan reverse sensor circuit type? Open or closed?

Howdy folks. I need to change the 7 pin socket on my tiguan tow kit to a 12 pin. the Tiguan has reversing sensors which are turned off by a switch on the plug. I bought a 12 pin socket from an auto shop however they have 2 types which work with reverse different parking sensor circuits.

    Closed (earth)
    Open (positive)

The only one they had was the closed (earth) circuit type so i bought this, i can return it unopened for a refund if incorrect.

Can anyone confirm what type of circuit the VW Tiguan uses?

Disregard this. The VW doesn't have a switch on the plug, so you can use any basic normal plug.

A 7 pin PLUG will fit a 12 pin SOCKET so unless you want to add wires for a fridge (unwise as too small) there is little reason to use one.

Far better to buy some 8 or 6G cable and use Anderson plugs which are heavy enough to prevent voltage drop.

I had twin Andersons with 6G (commonly called 6 B & S) cable to van batteries and Fridge
