Don't want I partitioned copy just the standard version.
Sam, I updated mine successfully this morning using the iso file link somewhere in the thread, but below same the link:
RNS Firmware » RNS510 firmware 4210 modified for Australia
Took me several attempts to download it completely.
Then I used CDBurnerXP software to burn it using 8x speed, then verified it. I tried Nero earlier but failed verification.
Hope this helps.

If you're on standard firmware, installing one of these versions enables VIM (video in motion) so passengers can watch a movie while you drive (great for that trip to SummerSun in Melbourne on the weekend)
The modified firmware also changes your hard drive partitions from the defaults, which allow massive storage for the maps (to support euro maps that use a whole dvd, ours only needs a CD) so you can store more music.
If you're on Firmware 2xxx you don't get speed limit displays or points of interest.
You get different reverse guidelines (which feel weird at first, but are better once you're used to it)
You can have a custom boot screen (small I know, but a difference)
If your RNS510 is a late enough model, you can also have new voice guidance.
New maps require at least 3xxx (I'm only 95% sure on this one without reading the whole thread again.)
Did I miss anything?

From memory, custom boot screen works on most FW versions (but probably at least FW 3xxx or higher).
You need V4.1 or higher map to have custom POIs and running on at least FW 3XXX or higher.
Speed limit display first introduced on the V4.1 map and really has nothing to do with FW version.

I run 2760 (yep, never bothered upgrading) and the v5 maps. I have a custom boot screen, and get speed limit displays also.
I've contemplated upgrading to 3xxx firmware for the POIs, but to be fair I doubt I'd use them often and don't really feel like going through the hassle should I have problems during the upgrade process.

Running 3970 and apart from the text to speech I'm not really seeing a good reason to bother then. In terms of the hard drive there's already 2500 odd songs on there without the need for the repartition, plenty of space left and the prospect of reloading all those songs after an unnecessary repartition is daunting.
Maps are v6 already anyway so I'm going to pass on the firmware for now methinks. I might be tempted with the VIM patch but can't really see a huge need for it anyway.
Maybe when the cars a few years old...
Thanks for the feedback though everyone, appreciated.
