    Thank you for the reply.
I know that if I have the original TV tuner the tv button is automatically enable.
I know also that I can buy an interface that enable the tv button. In this case I think that the interface send to the can network a string recognize by the cangateway. If I know the string I can emulate it, but I don't know.
The last possibility is to change the firmware, I think that in the software there is a "if .... then ..." which enable the tv button, but this instruction must be in the compiled software, so only with the source code we can look for it.
These are the possibilities I think.
    Thank you again

Help! I've recently updated my VW RNS510 version H (True C) from firmware 3790 to firmware 4020 (75/20/5). However, since the update, the secret menu and VCDS now show the Delivery part number as 1T0035680F! Does this mean I've paid for a version H but actually bought an F? Or is there some other explanation?

Check the 'HW Vehicle: 0xCxxx' value. This is the actual hardware revision of the unit.
Refer to this table for details.
Or check the sticker on the side of the unit. This will show build date and version.

Basically anything above version 'C' is almost identical despite different 'version' designations. It refers to the mapping software which is installed on it as well as some minor changes.

    Thanks for the reply,

Sticker says build date was Dec 2011 and that it is a 1T0035680H

It just seems odd to me how the menu and VCDS used to say 1T0035680H and now they say 1T0035680F all of a sudden.

Another point to note is that when I bought it, it came with firmware version 3790 (I imagine this will have had the standard partitioning scheme with the 40GB HDD). Even though I got the SWL SUCCESS message after the update to 4020, I still have my maps and music on the HDD! Is all of this not meant to have been wiped?

The H just refers to the maps and firmware it was loaded with from the factory.
So doesn't mean anything if you change it.
Check the partitions via secret menu, if you have your music and maps on there either the partition scheme was already the same, or it hasn't been changed.

Oh okay not to worry then, I thought someone might have been trying to pull a fast one that's all - so thanks for clearing that one up.

I know the HDD Capacity on the Media page shows around 20GB; I'm guessing this would be the standard partitioning i.e. 50% of 40GB?

I think I'll just have to update the unit with the modified 4020 firmware again in the morning, only this time I'll have to try and keep a close eye on it in case something pops up that I might miss.

Doesn't sound like any swifties have been pulled.
But it does sound like there may be an issue with the dlscript.txt file on the firmware image perhaps.
May need to check this with another member who has the required software and dongle to edit the file.
Feel free to try the load again (you will need to enable firmware downgrade in secret menu) however it sounds like it won't make any difference.

    Right,
I enabled firmware downgrade in secret menu and loaded the firmware again. Around half way through on RADIO update the unit appeared to have switched itself off. I left it for a while just in case it came back on.. but had to press the power button. The load continued and everything carried on from where it left off. Finally everything updated to 100%, then the unit switched off AGAIN. Only this time, the power button did nothing. So I had to put the key in and turn the ignition on to get any life out of it, then when it came back on it said SWL Success and ejected the disc.

I checked the HDD in the secret menu and it shows that I have a 40GB HDD with 3 partitions; 20GB for files.

could someone please tell me what is the difference between these 2 units: F version Europe and H version europe? Is it just the software? I am thinking of buying but not sure which one is the latest RNS 510 at the moment...Could someone please advise me? Of course I would have to put OZ maps myself I assume don't have to have DVD right?
