If I am not mistaken, it seems to me that it has errors in files modified in firmwares FW_4020_70_20_5.iso and SWL_CD_4020_M3_EUR.iso

in EURPQTO.WSH It is written

The delimiter of 'return' or next line is not required. It only makes it easier to read for humans.
Some people have loaded the firmware without issue. Those that fail are likely due to media read errors.

Feel free to edit the file as you like, this file is not protected by a CRC.

I do not agree.

The code 0A is not enough to indicate the beginning of the line of command. Like the "bad file" program undestand all as line of comment.

If "test mode" is a compulsory data to be configured, the program stop and fail.

Can be it is the same matter for the formatting 75-20-5

Test mode is optional.

As you have pointed out in your image, there is a . in between the comment 'test mode: active' and the actual setting 'setregdatahex'. You can have one . or you can have 99 .s and the setting will still be applied.

The formatting is controlled by a script file that is CRC protected however so it cannot just be edited without affecting the resultant CRC.

OK I am not a specialist BUT

all beginning of command line in original firmware start with 0D 0A code exept with you modifed command line.

It seems to me important to try to understand why the version for RNS B C D.. do not work while that for RNS A and previous seem good to work.

As I said you can edit this file so you can test your theory. Other people have been able to load it to c or later units.
Please do let us know if after you edit the file it makes a difference.
I don't think it will but would be happy to be proved wrong.

If you not be convinced, I am not going to flash my RNS (HW52 / FW2840 - 1T0 035 680 C) because I went to preserve it in working order.

As I said, I am not specialist, just curious.

I am convinced but if you aren't then as I mentioned you can edit the file.
I have been wrong in the past.
I think it was in 1992.

If you don't feel comfortable testing it then use the stock 4020 fw image.

I have a hard time expressing myself clearly in English. I do not mean to say you're wrong, i just want to understand why there are so many negative post about the 4020 update (new RNS) for Europe.

I do not think this is due to burning because too many different people have problems, always at the same time of the update.

Modify partitions is a real advantage of your firmware. Can we change the formatting in 70/25/5 instead of 75/20/5 without modifying CRC ?
