I successfully update the West Europe maps (I don't know why the maps stuck the first time). Everything is working perfectly as it should be! Thanks again Kamold

    Use the first link.
Problem is likely cannot read media.
Burn using cdburnerxp at slowest speed using track at once recording. Use a different brand of cd

Tell me the link of your database and I can try it if you want.

    Just for future reference:

I successfully installed the FW4020 but since I´m in the EU I couldn´t get the WESTERN UNION MAPS installed...
After reading through this forum a little more, I found out I would have to use a specific EU ISO in order to get a HDD partitioning scheme that leaves room enough for the EU maps (which are quite larger than the AU maps as I´ve read)

So... I activated SOFTWARE DOWNGRADE in the TEST MENU and then proceeded to install the specific EU FW4020.
The thing is I always get stuck at:
    LOADING STATUS 42%
    APPL - UPDATED 100%
(changing to) HDD - TO BE UPDATED 0%

    This is the SWL ERROR:
«An error occured related to the SWL Media. Please remove the existing Media and either insert the same SWL image on a different MEdia to continue or insert a new SWL image to start a new SWL Process.»

Now, I´ve been using the same MEDIA I always used in past FW updates (quite a few): Pleomax (Samsung) CD-R 52X...
...so it is true what they say, that this FW4020 seems to transform the RNS510 into a really picky machine when it comes to MEDIA...

Media, software burner and settings used to burn the .ISO as follows:
    Pleomax (Samsung) CD-R 52x _ ImgBurn 2.5.7.0 _ 10x speed
    Pleomax (Samsung) CD-R 52x _ Nero 9.4.26.0 _ 10x speed
Pleomax (Samsung) CD-R 52x _ CDburnerXP 4.4.0.3018 _ Disc-at-Once,10x speed (no Track-at-Once option available, just Session-at-Once, which I think isn´t appropriate since it would leave the disc open for future burns)

I will now try to burn to a DVD...
    Memorex DVD+R _ CDburnerXP 4.4.0.3018 _ Disc-at-Once, 2,4x speed
Will keep you posted with the results...

UPDATE: no. DVD+R spits out an error straight away.

NOW as I was going to get ready and burn ANOTHER CD-R...
I just tried to burn another ISO, 4020_nfb.iso (which should be the original, unmodified version of the FW4020) and guess what... NERO would allow me to burn in TRACK-AT-ONCE.
Not so with the EU ISO image posted in the first post.
And actually that post recommends burning in TRACK-AT-ONCE...
...so... I think there might be something wrong with the ISO posted...

Can you folks check it out before anyone bricks their RNS510 (yes I realize you´re only helping and if anyone bricks their unit it´s their fault and problem). Meanwhile I´ll be burning said unmodified ISO.

UPDATE2: Burned 4020_nfb.iso with Nero, same media, 10x speed, track-at-once. UPDATED SUCCESSFULLY
Most definitely it must be the ISO image.
I noticed you mention 70/20/5 partitioning... could this be it? There´s 5% missing...

Same with me. I´ve been using the same CD-Rs for all my FW updates.
Maybe it´s somthing wrong with the ISO image, since the ERROR comes up exactly when updating the HDD (which is the single most important thing this ISO image modifies...)

Which image file did you use?
I used the image for older units (A-B), it worked fine....
CD-R media MEMOREX, TAO writing, LG DVD-RW drive, write speed 16x.

I was using the FW_4020_70_20_5.iso file on a 1T0035680F unit.
I tried a couple of different types of disc, but they all failed at the same point in the upgrade, after the APPL Update had got to 100%. I then got the SWL error as in sergiommms post above
