eBay user bluewagon sells them, I bought one, but just went with the 9W7, neither of them are compatible with the red mfd, however provided the car talks to the 9W7 you can initiate paring from the phone rather than the car, where as I'm led to believe when using a 9WZ the pairing must be initiated using the mfd, which in your case can't occur as you have a red mfd not a white one, it may be possible though to connect the module to a newer car, pair the module with the phone using it's white mfd, and then transferring it back, it could work...

Where abouts did you purchase your 9wz? Best price i can find so far is 500 for a 9w7... of ebay.. thanks
i actually got mine for an unbeatable price, from another forum member here. $150 delivered for the bt unit & two external gsm antennaes!! no bt wiring harness or mounting kit though.
i got the bt wiring harness from bluewagen for $100 delivered.
    all it cost me $250.

i've got a discussion topic here.

as jameshero mentioned, bluewagen also sell the complete 9wz package - with bt unit, antennaes, mounting kit & wiring harness. i don't remember the pricing though.

that is true. u'll need the mfd (white) to manage pairings.
that theory of using another car with white mfd to pair, then transferring back, should work

Yes, they use the same wiring (which is why you can't have both)

Yer ill grab some for people, had an idea though

Thinking about taping the new cable to the old one, using the old cable to pull it through?

Does a MDI need coding by the way?

Oh I think I get what you're on about now. The connector on the MDI might be different to the one on the stacker, but the wiring in the quad-lock connector that connects to the HU is the same for both.

My MDI worked ok without coding, besides throwing an error in VCDS whenever I scanned (Module 9 - Cent Electronics coded incorrectly). I told VCDS that I now have the MDI and cleared the fault code.

I just stuck the MDI box under my seat, then ran the cable up the A pillar, past the steering wheel then to the HU.

Hey there, sorry to completely drain everyone but...

My rns510 A series in my golf, the other day i though it was a D for whatever reason. Been trying to update the firmware with the D update, so clearly it didnt work.

After a while i gave up, so switched the unit on, and settled for updating the maps that it had, from V1 i believe to V3, using a disk from my other golf that was provided by the dealership.

My issue is, after i did this i think i selected the wrong option because without the disk in, it will not display the maps, and to make it worse, i cannot change it in any settings menu or anything!!!

and for whatever other stupid reason, weather it was the firmware or the maps update, NOTHING WORKS! Cds dont load, HDD cant be clicked from the media section, radio does not play.

This has killed me, no idea what i should do... i thought it may have been something to do with using the disk from the other golf which has already been used?

Any insight would be so appreciated right now!!!!

    Thanks so much!
