    Electric Windows

    Hi All,

I am the rather unfortunate owner of a MY2012 oldGolf 118TSI with 7Sp Dud Box.

I need your help to make my drives a bit more bearable - how can I get all the open windows to automatically close as I am exiting the car?

I used to have this feature on my 2002 A3 so that functionality must be available within the VAG group.

    Your help would be appreciated.

    Hold down the lock key.
You can also unlock the car and hold the unlock button and it will open the windows..

Might need to enable 'all windows' in (I think) the convenience menu on the MFD first, otherwise I'm fairly sure it'll only do the drivers window by default.

Thanks guys but neither of these appear to work - in my 2002 A3 all the windows would go up (if they were open) when I pressed the "lock" button on the remote.

I would have thought that 10 years later feature VAG may have also have incorporated this in their other cars.

    Thanks for the help though.

I also had this function in my 2008 Tiguan which had the old separate convenience 46 module however in 2009 this module was incorporated in the main BCM module 9 and I have since lost this function in my new 2012 Tiguan. I have left a number of posts in several VW VCDS forums asking if anyone had managed to crack the code for activating this function. Nothing so far ....

I suspect it has something to do with safety and litigation issues where someone may still inadvertently be in the car and would not be able to get out as the safe lock mechanism would be also activated by doing this.

It is absolutely present on my 2010 GTI. If you want to wind all windows up (or down), you need to press the lock (or unlock) button on the remote, and hold it for several seconds before the windows will start to wind. It's not a one-touch system and the delay is significant.

The issue is once you activate the closing function via the remote you must continue to hold the button down. Those vehicles that had the old separate module 46 could activate a code which allowed you to release the remote button once activated and the windows sunroof would continue to close on their own accord.
This function was activated in the old 19 Byte module at Byte 6 bit 6

I have a 2010 Tig and the feature is there. Our 2012 Golf has it also. Seems strange that the latest Tig would not have it if every other model does
