    Hi Robbie,

I had to message him for the second unit and he said he had 3 left. So not too sure whether you pm in and asked for it?

I used a guy from the UK. Version c LCD bit more expensive than competitors but it comes with everything you need and 12months warranty.
It's been great so far. Only little problems is I haven't been able to code in the steering controls yet or the mfd turn by turn display.

I bought Version C with the LCD. All my trials & tribulations here

My steering controls worked straight away as did the integration with the MFD. I've just returned from a 10 day trip and there were no battery drain issues either. Car started perfectly.

several people say it takes áges' for these to initially lock on. Mine has been on 40mins without locking on. All other features work. The GPS status page says 0/12 and sometimes 0/13 satellites. It has a wrong location from europe shown (and changes it slightly when car driven - obviously trying to fudge dead reckoning). I suspect it is confused because it has just moved around the earth as it can see the # of available satellites.

I have double checked antenna and it looks fine i.e. is plugged in. Anyone got any tips? ANy way to force it onto a new search from the start?

    OK All going now.

With a fair does of Google, I found out that by holding down Setup when turning on, it seemed to trigger it into an initialisation mode. Suddenly it started finding satellites, and all was working in a few minutes. Using the Setup menu when it was on, and doing a resent of Nav etc didn't do anything.

Anyway works well (also DVD, compass etc etc). with no VCDS coding it works fine. Voice commands on the rns work (not that I want them to). I think the only thing I am missing is the turn by turn directions on the FD. If VCDS can ever decode the CAN on this MY11 Golf, I will have a go (right now it says there is limited support!).

One thing I aren't clear about is Voice Turn announcements. If one has the radio on they are too quiet to be clearly heard - can one adjust this?

Yes you can set the audio /radio /cd to lower volume when the gps is announcing turns its in the set up i think

I have found that if you adjust the volume while an announcement is being made, it gets louder.

I am disappointed that the gps/NAV system does not show an actual GPS speed.
