Yes that is my real name lol.

I do not really dis-like focal, they are very good. You will just get a much better lower mid bass response, better xover and a much better sounding tweeter with the Dyn. But as I have said, have a listen and you may like the Focals. That's the great thing about having choice

Had you thought about looking at Hybrid Audio Legatia L641 or L631.

They get some seriously good ratings and there cheaper than the Dyn's and if not mistaken the Focal's too.

And The owner Scott Buwalda is a pretty good guy they have there own forum dedicated to the Hybrid Audio speakers and will help you if you have cross over issues and what not. The only catch with these speakers are that they dont have cross-overs at all.

    Well, done.

Dyns, and deck, with the blue tooth (which funnily enough the deck installed with bt is cheaper than the genuine vw kit...) So I'll claim that bit back on tax!

Called the shop up today said I wanted another listen. They went and got an IDQ10 and hooked it up so I could hear it all together. I think I'll be fairly happy with it Spending a little on sound deadening too.

Ekking lot of money though... So much for getting a bike...

Yeah went with the Dyns for a few reasons. Mostly I feel the sound will be nicer for longer periods in the car. Like the Focals had the good impact, but after a 2 hour drive, I dare say Id be well over impact. And I just couldn't find any of the other brands mentioned, other than at a few dodgy shops. I really don't like supporting businesses that don't support the industry if that makes sense.

I must admit I compleately forgot to get the pics off the shop. I'll prob grab them on monday. But it looks factory basically. Really happy with the install again.

Only one glitch with the bluetooth. I've got an N95, and it couldn't find the address book. Seems the trick is you send all your contacts to the HU as business cards via the BT. Works a treat now!

Now time to rediscover all my music again!

Sorry to be digging up an old thread. But I am going to be upgrading the Audio in my car and I too am tossing up between the DynAudio 342's and the Focal 165VR3's.

I am getting the Focal Solution 25A1 installed this week with full dynamats on all doors. I just wanted to research the speakers more. I will be wanting to do front and back. Did you only do the fronts?

How are you like the DynAudio's after using them for months? What amp are you running them off?

I will be using the RNS510 head unit. I hope this doesn't cause a bottleneck in my setup.

Interested to hearing back from you.

    Cheers,

    Dean
