Hi Guys, I'm on the verge of buying the new Audiosources AS-7609 with the new 8" screen but was wondering what everyone's thoughts were when it comes to the TV function??
Question is........... does it work in Sydney?? I was looking at the twin antenna option setup for the Australian DVB-T (MPEG-2) but cannot find any concrete comments on reception in the sydney area.
Any thoughts guys?? if it's no good I simply won't grab the antennas and save the $80..... better put toward a coupla slabs of beer I suppose.

You can talk Peter down to $50 for the tuner.
I did but ended up going for a RVC instead. Going to install it in my wife's MkV when he ships it...I think its some sort of holiday over there now.
My only experience with DVBT reception in a head unit was complete rubbish. Next to no signal on any channel. Completely unwatchable or nothing at all. However this was several years ago and I was in the Northern Beaches at the time, so by no means take this as any indication of how well it may or may not work for you.
For $50 you really haven't lost much if it doesnt work though. And if it does work, you might be able to catch some cricket while you're at the servo or something...
