I would love to try your version of iGo. Everyone here has had the same system lag issue mods described while using iGo.
The tool you talk about is Total Commander? I access the system but is in Chinesse. But I can manage to explore WinCE to change this.
I will check the iGO build version for you. If you want I can send it to you with Dropbox or something.
Another issue I am having with the unit is that 3G internet does not work at all. I´ve tried several times with no luck....but with S600 it worked instantly ......
I contacted a Romanian guy from WinCE Patch and he claims to have a patch that may solve the 3G issue. Not tried that yet.

Yea, probably it, i've been meaning to change it on mine too (it's suck at UTC+8, ie China). You'll just have to trawl through the chinese menus to find it, googling should get you close though.
Build version would be great, but I suspect it's probably a build that i've tried, and you're probably seeing the same issues, just not as sensitive to lag or something haha.
No clue about the 3G internet thing, I don't care about that feature (it's pointless to me, I have a phone for that), I wouldn't spend any time trying to get it to work. I also wouldn't try some random patch from some romanian guy who is asking money for wince system patches, seems super dodgy and will probably end up breaking something internally. Wouldn't trust and wouldn't bother, imo.
I wouldn't put your hopes up, i'd expect it to have the same issues. You're much better off using Sygic Drive, since it works perfectly for me now.

Let me tell you something. I will Sygic Drive and will come back with some benchmark results. Still I am pretty confident with iGO. I offer the unit to the aftermarket department of our local VW dealer and they are using the unit with an Amarok and haven't had any complain regarding iGO from the Aftersales manager so far. Just that I installed the wrong language pack and I need to go back to install the proper language.
I must say that I followed detailed instructions and copied just some files from one folder to another to use iGO. I had problems with iGO and with Navitel until I´ve found to merge two different versions found in Russian hacker that has the Latin American maps (so hard to find for iGO) and a stable core version found on the thepiratebay.se torrent site.
Right.
Not trying to doubt you, i'm just saying from my (and others) personal experience with iGo, it was a complete disaster, and was essentially unusable. I have tried enough different iGo builds (including iGo8, which is old and supposed to be CPU resource easy), and spent enough time messing with it to know it's not worth spending any more time trying to it working. Unless you can provide any significant evidence (like a video) showing it actually working as advertised. Sygic Drive works perfectly for me, now so yea *shrugs*
Have you tried the SD playback thing that I mentioned?
I dunno, either you're using some magic version of iGo, or you find the lag tolerable?

Dear Moda,
I will try your indications and try to find the problem that you mention using SD playback while using iGO and send a video to you. Believe I´ve not experienced NO LAG at all so far. (never tried SD playback while using iGO thought).
As I told you the unit is being testing by the official VW retailer aftermarket manager with no observations.
BTW. I´ve downloaded the file for north america from your Sygic download link (THANK you!)
The file provided 3 folders (Maps, Res, WindowsCE). Can you please give me some guidance on what to place on the SD card and on what hierarchy? (I am not lazy but your advice would be useful to save time :roll eyes: )
Thank you in advance to all for all your help.
Hrm ok. Well i'd still like to see how/what your version is, then. For what it's worth, here is a video showing the problem (sent to Audiosources, who still couldn't fix it, ugh): DNS810 Lag - YouTube
As I said, i've tried many different builds and configurations, and days worth of messing around, and still had the same issues. Still had significant lag, even if I was playing back music from my iPod, or FM radio, so its not just SD, it's a problem squarely with iGo and how it processes/renders 3D.
Even if you can show no lag in other media playback, like FM or iPod, that would be interesting. It could very well be an issue with the Australian maps, who knows.
I'm not sure if that North America Sygic copy would have maps for Peru, so you may be out of luck, but give it a go anyways. Just put all three folders on the SD card, in a subfolder like /Sygic/.
It will probably say no maps found, since the trial is expired, so you'll have to find your own way of activating it *cough* its the same as sygic drive 8.16 *cough*
Give it a go and see how it goes

I almost forgot I had purchased this unit. The current status hasn't changed for a while. I've fully paid for my unit, what's the latest ETA?

Hi there. I did the mistake of buying S600-7609 (S600-810) unit thinking that these issues wouldn't happen but they do.
Is exactly the same as moda says. When I'm running Igo, the system becomes veeery laggy, the music starts to crash, and eventually the unit reboots. I've tried different memory configurations but I didn't found one that works perfect.
