Hi all! I'm afraid to flash my device... both of you run your devices on can VW_V02.27 or newer. My device has strange version VW_V28.BG Is it safe for me to flash my device? My mcu has "A" letter, it means i have new canbus module? Give me some advice) Thanks!

Have pretty much confirmed that my unit failure was caused by BSP flash failure. Should be able to recover it, either by replacing the chip, the motherboard, or the entire unit. Still waiting to here back about what is going to be the course of action though.

    Tips:

Read all the instructions and follow it to a t.

Turn the car on, not just ignition but let the car idle, that way you shouldn't have any risk of draining the battery or power going off. Make sure you do it in a well ventilated area though!

Don't touch the unit once it starts updating. Just let it do its thing. If the screen goes blank, just wait for it, and let it do its thing.

@ Macinjosh and Sergey, yep, 'A' firmware for both of you.

The CAN version is probably just a revision of V28, it shouldn't be an issue to flash to the newer version.

If you are uneasy, you should at the very least be able to flash the newer MPU, which is the main chunk of the firmware/software anyways, haven't seen any issues with flashing the MPU at all, and in fact, previously I have had to interrupt an MPU flash because it hung, and it recovered fine :p

Thank you! Does anyone know what the benefits or fixes are in the new version. Heck, even if it was just more gain on the Bluetooth microphone, I'd be happy.

A big one is you can finally set the time now plus there's now an option to have it sync with GPS time . Also if you are having any battery drain or silent boot double start issues it should fix those too.

I believe they were fixed in previous versions? I had GPS Time Sync on mine for a while, and no silent boot/double start issues either. Probably no major fixes, just more bug fixes and optimisations. Either way, typically, you're usually better off using the latest version possible *shrugs*

I tried and I can confirm that is working on the new "A" type devices.

But is there any benefit to it? I had GPS time and no battery drain all along. But I'd like functional Bluetooth and maybe a decent Scan feature.

I think I just bricked my unit. I have a grey screen and nothing else.
