Looking at your video, the starting thing is very strange and definitely not something i've seen before. It could either be a new bug in the new firmware, or could be your unit? Not sure, never experienced it.

The track names/radio station in the MFD thing is not a new bug, been around for ages. If you turn off RDS it will just show the frequency which is fine enough for me.

Might be worth shooting Audiosources an email with these bugs and the video, it will do more than bitching on a random forum about it.

Re the RAM thing, it has 512mb of RAM, it's just allocated differently, it has ~200mb of RAM allocated/available for the GPS/Navigation application portion, and the rest is allocated for the various other system functions. It's 512mb in total, though.

It's like how on your PC, you may have 16gb of RAM, but windows itself probably uses ~2-6gb just sitting there idling, so applications can only use say 10-14gb.

So with the next shipment due to Sandy at the end of this week, who else is going to be playing with swapping over the CANBUS module?

I'll be sure to document how it goes/play guinea pig haha.

Process should be: Unit out -> Change Module -> Reflash -> Profit

Hopefully should be seamless, but we'll see, fun! Will have to grab the latest NEW firmware though, i've only got copies of the one from October *shrugs*

I want to but as I only have a half MFD I don't have much motivation to other than getting the latest firmwares. I guess I'll see how hard it is first.

Hrm yea true, I guess the only benefit for you would be the faster boot times?

From the photos it looks like its only ~8 (?) big solder points, so shouldn't be too hard to swap them over, fingers crossed

HK to Brisbane in 1 day haha, woo. I imagine since it's a big shipment it might take a while for it to clear customs, though?
