I'm hoping my car keeps going too as I've updated it now to the point where there aren't really any compelling features in a new car that I could justify over mine.
The infotainment is one area where it becomes quite obvious where the gap is between the previous generation and current.
The Discover Media really is a pleasure to use every day.
Side note, here is my RVC, comes on in reverse and switches off/to the sensors once out, easy stuff. The guide lines are totally useless, I just ignore them. And just for fun, this is a brand new connector for the MY10.5 amplifier, I had to call in a favour at the company I work for's considerable procurement department to trick the supplier who made the amp up into giving me this part as a free sample. My intention is to use this to make a custom adapter harness to the plugs that were supplied with the pre-10.5 Dynaudio amp. Won't have to do a thing inside the car, plug and play.

There is a complete adapter harness you can buy from aliexpress if you don't want up a harness. You also need to make up crossovers for the rear tweeters as they are separately connected to the dynaudio amp on their own channels.

Oh, really? That didn't exist back when I got the amp did it? I have doco somewhere on all the pinouts anyway so I might as well just use what I've got unless it's dirt cheap. I just had a quick look now but couldn't see it.

Oh you mean like a total harness replacement, not just an adapter, or literally an off the shelf version of what I was suggesting?

Yeah it's not dirt cheap. I think over $200.
I decided to dismantle my old amp to get the connector out of it and used that to make my new harness.
It's a bit chunky and doesn't sit perfectly under the amp cover, but you can't see it under the seat and it works, so I'm happy enough.

Oh that's right! Yeah, you had the exact same issue with yours, I remember now. So we're doing the same thing, just I didn't want to pull it off the old amp, I managed to actually get the part from Tyco, which they weren't willing to supply to me personally but when a big manufacturing company asked for me they drop everything to express a sample at no cost.

Sadly it looks like I've lost the info on which pin does what now, will need to track that down again.

Hah! That's the stuff. I had started translating the info from that German forum just now for the MY10 plug, plus English info for the MY08 plugs. Saved it this time, I'm guessing you probably e-mailed me that last time, the pics look familiar. Cheers.

    Great Job kamold !!

I´ve been looking to retrofit mib2 to a MY2014 jetta.

I can buy cheap units in my country but my problem is component protection removing.

I´ll appreciate if somebody can help me with CP removing and voice function activation. I´m not interested in NAV, I prefer to use waze or google maps through carplay.

    Thanks in advance!!

Hi @agustinfx. I'm afraid you can only use Apple Maps in CarPlay - no others.
