Has anyone else got this combination?
I can't find how to make the MFD show the playlists etc for navigation - all it shows is what is currently playing from my iPod. The only way I can navigate (without using the iPod itself) is through the RCD-310.
Any tips would be appreciated.
As a warning to any MkVI owners who have admired how the Dension Gateway 100 works on MkV Golfs, it is BRILLIANT with a MkV Golf (and the RCD300 or RCD500). A friend has one and the ability to navigate through the menus on the MFD with the steering wheel controls is fantastic.
BUT on a MkVI Golf with a RCD310 or RCD510, it is nowhere near as good. With these units, the Gateway 100 (and probably thier other models) can only display track information on the MFD and the only control you have with the steering wheel buttons is to skip to the next or previous track. All navigation must be performed via the head unit.
I have just had this confirmed by an email from Dension's support after trying to figure out how to enable navigation with the steering wheel controls and MFD. Needless to say, I am less than totally satisfied with the product.
I cannot comment on how the Dension products work with the RNS-510
