I stream radio stations from the internet to my phone, then BT A2DP stream that to my headunit.

I think the bit rate might even be a bit better than DAB radio. It's fine.

A little bit but only when I'm using data as well, i.e browsing the web.

An iPhone will handle it no worries as I have a Nokia N8.

It's gotta be Telstra NextG though or don't even bother.

Been a while, but I got this info from MotivAuto - hope he doesn't mind me sharing:
Apologies for this delay in responding.

I am actually going to upload a Group Buy for the Media DAB+ product for Volkswagen on this website this coming weekend.

We have extensively tested the Media DAB+ product in Melbourne and also through our partners in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Canberra Australia and know it to work with RCD310, RCD510 and RNS510 VW radios. The radio is great because if the DAB+ station is sending out RDS signals about which song is playing then the Media DAB+ picks up this and shows this on the radio screen and also MFA+ display.

The main features required in the vehicle is volume up/down and source selection all available on the steering wheel controls.

We have also tested a variety of DAB+ antenna's (you definitely need one of these) and will be offering in our Group Buy the standard option of an internal DAB+ antenna or as an accessory the external DAB+ antenna. Due to all the testing we have done, we can advise the optimal location to mount the internal DAB+ antenna in the vehicle to allow for the best available reception.

Wonder if its the same as this:

AutoDAB, In car DAB radio interface

I contacted them and they advised DAB+ is supported. Not concerned enough about DAB+ at the moment to buy one on my own to test it so will see what Motiv has to offer in terms of price and product info. Could be persuaded...

Looking forward to to seeing how this works and how much effort the install is. I wonder if it emulates itself as an MDI or something (and if that means we have to choose between DAB+ and MDI).

I assume/hope the RNS510 GUI won't be affected or replaced, otherwise that would be a significant con for me. That link you have says it transmits via RDS though, which is good, except the RNS510 doesn't display RDS song data.

    I hope not!
DAB Audio & Text station name sent over FM modulated signal to original Head Unit
defeats one of the best features of DAB(+) Radio the clarity.

    Ooooooo if this is

    A) Integrated - Works like DAB would have had I bought a Deuchland spec car in Germany
    B) Stealthy - No bits Like it would if it were a Dspec car in Germany
    C) low impact install
    D) Sounds great without drop-outs
    E) S & I at the right price

I'll be in danger of flipping this table
