crossover trouble

wanting some 3-way crossovers, preferably non-digital...heard most are discontinued, however wondered if anyone knew where to find some??? heard the brand kef was amazing as a mate of mine ran kef 3-way crossovers and his system sounded as crisp as anything

anyone able to point me in the right direction??

You got a budget in mind?
FHRX in Sydney list a few brands that do them - Hertz, Focal, DD...
What are you trying to acheive exactly? Do you already have quality speakers that you are trying to improve the response of, or is this for the factory setup?? If so - which car??

No budget really, yeah i heard focal are pretty good. Im trying to achieve a clearer sound than i already have, i know its achieveable cause my mate ran both with and without the crossovers and the clearness was quite evident. i have pioneer yellow cones all round in my vr

Crossovers are designed to split the audio signal from the amplifier into multiple outputs
Each output is restricted to a particular frequency range

Your speakers will have crossovers built in (little circuit on the back, maybe just a cap and a coil)
Sound benefits of an external crossover are minimal at best, and needs to be specifically tuned to your speakers

Sounds like your mate has a component set or "splits"
Where the tweeter is a separate unit to the mid bass driver.
These come with external crossovers and are typically better than a coaxial speaker

Custom crossovers can be quite expensive, much more than your current speakers,
I'd recommend a good set of component splits, these can be bought for $300-$2000 depending on your budget.
FHRX is a great place to start, if you're close to Sydney
or post up your budget and I can make some suggestions
