Allegience, have a look on the back of the tweeter you took out of your Polo. Should be a capacitor (usually black with some writing). If theres one there, that's your crossover (sort of!)

Hi Guys,
I swapped the front midrange and tweeter on the weekend in the Polo (what a bitch it was!). I have followed the wiring back and I can't find a crossover. The tweeter wire and midrange wire seem to go to different places, and only one wire for the front left speaker is coming out of the RCD310.
Does anyone know if the MK6 Golf or Polo has a crossover and if so, where it is located?
The reason I am asking for the MK6 Golf is alot of the locations for things on the Golf have been similar on the Polo.
(Yes I know this is a double post, that was deliberate so I can get people from the Golf and Audio sections, please don't merge threads)
Thanks

Crossovers would not likely be standard for a basic sound system. As Cousin says, a Cap removes some of the low freq from the tweeter and the mid naturally rolls of the higher freq.
Thanks for your replies guys. Yes there was a capacitor on the back of the tweeter. Now I am trying to work out where this wiring goes. There is only one output for the front left speaker coming out of the RCD310, however there is only one cable to the mid and to the tweeter. They must join up somewhere?
