With that in mind, I suggest this favourite thread of mine over in GolfMKV:

NWS: Hot Chicks and Crazy Dubs??? - VW GTI Forum / VW Rabbit Forum / VW R32 Forum / VW Golf Forum - Golfmkv.com

Plenty of VW pics to choose from!

Here's the equivalent thread for those needing to create a startup logo for their "Chinese version of RNS-510":

Yeah, only the top-left one caught my eye as a potential replacement. If I was going to use the picture of a Golf, I think it would have to be my own Golf (model + paint colour), or at least an identical one (not too many of those around, though).

When I visualize how it would look on my screen though, it seems a little ricey (in want of a better word).

Agree - got to watch it's not change for changes sake, and really get a decent image up there. I think it needs to be quite subtle - otherwise might as well put a silly spoiler on the back, hack the $hit out of the springs and drill a few holes in your exhaust - for that truly authentically bad entry-level Lancer setup.

I could not get the ISO file to work from the website. I had burnt 3 disks, all of which did not work. The software always looked like it was working and updating on my radio, but at the last stage when is was looking for the startup image, it would say that it could not find a valid image. I then gave up for a while.
I then saw my file in the gallery on the website, so I downloaded a new ISO file with my image that was in the websites gallery. It then worked ok.
I also noticed that the ISO image file that finally did work, was larger than the ISO image files I created earlier.

An additional note.....I wasted many blank discs that would not work. I now use a DVD+RW and it works fine every time.

    RNS510 Boot Logo Updater

For those people that would like to change their boot logo on their RNS510's.

Here is a website that will create the ISO automatically for you.

I am yet to try this myself, but going off the FAQ's on the website it seems quite easy.

Create your own custom bootlogo for RNS510

    enjoy!
